Back from the Everglades....

I just finished 4 days of snook fishing in the Everglades with Captain Steve Huff. It was off the chart! There were gazillions of small fish taking flies and I have never caught so many large snook. We probably caught 7 or 8 fish over 10 pounds with the biggest around 18 or 19. The new Bass Rod from Sage is an absolute rocket for throwing big bushy snook flies. I set the camera incorrectly and did not get a photo of the big one. Oh well!

Sue & I are going to Deep Water Cay with Marshall Dinerman and Roy Katz tomorrow for bonefishing. Marshall, Roy and I were in Den 1, Pack 84 of the Cub Scouts about 1954. Sue is going to have her hands full being den mother for us this week!

We will be launching our new website shortly (tease on left) and today I am happy to announce that we are now commencing with “Tight Loops” – the Official Blog of The Florida Keys Fly Fishing School and Florida Keys Outfitters. This blog is for our many friends, alumni and avid fly fishermen and women around this watery planet.

We will do our best to update frequently so check back often or subscribe to “Tight Loops” in the upper right hand corner beneath the logo. By subscribing, you will receive an email when we post a new text or video update.

I’m off to the Everglades for a few days of snook and tarpon fishing with Captain Steve Huff and hope to have something interesting to share with you when I return!
